02 · Workflows & projects

Run people operations like a well-oiled project.
monday.com is a flexible work platform for planning, tracking and automating work. HR teams use it to bring the processes that sit around an HRIS into one place: hiring pipelines, onboarding checklists, approvals, policy reviews and the projects that keep a people function moving.
Why we recommend it: it's easy for non-technical teams to set up, and it gives managers and leaders a clear, live view of who is doing what and what's overdue, without chasing updates by email.

03 · HR system & payroll

One home for your people data.
Bob, from HiBob, is a full HR information system (HRIS): employee records, onboarding, time off and attendance, compensation, reporting and UK payroll in one platform, with HR, payroll and finance all working from the same data.
Why we recommend it: when a business outgrows spreadsheets and disconnected tools, Bob is a strong, modern backbone. It's well suited to multi-country teams, and its UK payroll runs from the same records as HR, so there's no double entry.

Where EngageTalent fits
Choosing an HRIS is a people decision, not just a tech one.
We help you decide whether an HRIS like Bob is right for your stage, shape your data and policies before you migrate, and set it up around how your business actually works.
Bob also includes surveys, performance and learning tools, which work well in their standard format. If you want onboarding, culture, growth and recognition resources fully branded as your own, our People Hub sits alongside your HRIS. It's a branded layer for your people, while the personal data stays in Bob.
What others say
"HiBob is one of the few SaaS companies that have successfully cracked the code on user experience."
Josh Bersin, global industry analyst, as quoted by HiBob
04 · US payroll & expansion

Hiring in the US? Get payroll right from day one.
Gusto is one of the best-known payroll and HR platforms in the US, built for small and growing businesses. It runs full-service US payroll and files federal and state taxes. It also handles US benefits such as health insurance and 401(k) retirement plans, and covers hiring, onboarding and time off.
Why we recommend it: US employment works very differently from the UK. Every state has its own tax and new-hire rules, and benefits are expected as standard. For UK businesses opening a US entity, Gusto takes much of that admin off your plate.
Month-to-month, no long-term contract, and you don't pay until you run payroll.
What changes when you employ in the US
- PAYE & RTI with HMRCFederal and state payroll taxes, filed state by state
- Right to work checksForm I-9 and state new-hire reporting
- P60s & P45sW-2s for employees, 1099s for contractors
- NHS & workplace pensionEmployer health insurance and 401(k) plans
- Statutory holidayNo federal minimum — PTO is set by policy

Good to know: Gusto's own payroll is built for US employers. For UK payroll, we'd usually point you to an HRIS with UK payroll built in, such as HiBob.
05 · Training & onboarding

Turn your policies into training people actually complete.
Evolve is an AI learning platform that takes the documents, slides and videos you already have and builds them into full training courses, with lessons, quizzes, realistic practice scenarios and AI feedback on written answers. Managers get clear dashboards showing who has completed what, and where the skill gaps are.
Why we recommend it: most businesses already have the right content, such as a handbook, policies or process guides, but nobody reads it. Evolve turns it into onboarding and compliance training in hours rather than weeks, so it's actually used.
Evolve offers a free pilot: a ready-to-use course, practice simulator and knowledge base built from your own materials.

From Evolve.
Where EngageTalent fits
Great training starts with the right content.
We write and update the handbooks, policies and manager guides. Evolve turns them into training with assessments, so you can show that people have actually understood them, not just received them. That matters more than ever as employment law changes roll out through 2026 and 2027.
It also works alongside our People Hub: the Hub is your branded home for onboarding and resources, and Evolve delivers the structured training and tracking behind it.

06 · Time & attendance

Accurate hours, wherever your people work.
Buddy Punch is a simple, cloud-based time clock. Employees punch in and out from a phone, tablet or computer. Managers approve timesheets, overtime is calculated automatically, and hours export straight to payroll.
Why we recommend it: for hourly, shift-based and field teams, accurate time records protect people as much as the business. Everyone gets paid correctly, overtime is visible, and you have clear records if a question about working time ever comes up.
14-day free trial, no credit card needed. Administrators are free; you pay per active employee.
From Buddy Punch.
Where EngageTalent fits
The tool tracks the time. The policy makes it fair.
A time clock works best alongside clear, consistently applied attendance, overtime and leave policies. We help you write those, train managers to have fair conversations about patterns they spot, and set the system up to match your working-time rules.
Worth knowing
Using GPS, photos or facial recognition?
These features process personal data, and facial recognition counts as biometric data under UK GDPR, so it needs extra care. Before switching them on, you'll want a clear lawful basis, a data protection impact assessment and an employee privacy notice. We can help you put those in place.
